Our soaps are always made with clean and simple ingredients that are good and nourishing for your skin. All soaps are handcrafted in small batches. This is a cold process soap, which means that it is made from scratch with full control of all ingredients used. Each bar is approximately 4 oz. The process involved for each soap takes 4-6 weeks. This ensures that excess water has evaporated which leads to a harder bar of soap that will last longer.
Shea butter is an exceptional moisturizer with great skin softening properties without clogging pores. It containes vitamin A which helps rebuild cells. This butter paired with other top quality, natural and skin loving oils such as olive, coconut and avocado are no match to commercially made soaps. Lunar Lava also containes activated charcoal.
What is activated charcoal?
Activated charcoal is a very fine dark black powder that’s produced by processing carbon-rich bamboo, coal, or coconut shells at high temperatures. This high heat temperature changes its structure and creates an expansive sponge-like surface area, which is what makes it have such amazing absorbing abilities.
It effectively cleanses the skin, unclogs pores, removes impurities and dead skin cells resulting in smooth, supple, and even-toned skin. Dirt, toxins, heavy metals, chemicals, and other poisons are attracted to the charcoal molecules and washed away.
It has multiple uses in skincare and is especially nice as a soap for oily or acne-prone skin, though all skin types can use it. This soap is even gentle enough to be used as a facial cleanser.
It is scented with tea tree, lemon and lemongrass essential oils to boost its healing potential and give your skin a healthy glow while also giving you refreshing and energizing aromatic benefits. Tea tree is helpful in treating acne because of its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It's thought to calm redness, swelling and inflammation. Lemongrass is a natural toner. It aids in shrinking pores while tightening and firming the skin. This combination will help reduce and prevent acne, leaving you with smooth and clear skin.
We never use: synthetic fragrances, harsh chemicals, sulfates, parabens.

Like any other handcrafted soap, it is recommended to use a well draining soap dish to prolong the life of the soap.
